Georgia Le Carre has written another incredible book. Sofia and Jack both have dark and painful past that interferes and controls life. Sofia was sold at a young age to be a sex salve by the man that was supposed to keep her safe from the worlds ugly her father. Jack is a doctor who has seen the mutilations and horrors while working in Africa one could not have imagined in his worst nightmares, and he lived through them, he’s tormented bitter and a tired soul. Jack is financially a success personally he's a complete mess; he drinks, fights and has random sex. One night everything changes things for the both them; a Christmas party that Sofia did not want to attended because she doesn’t want anyone to know her secrets She's been living in the shadows for years now and is comfortable with it. Jack changes the game for Sofia that night with a simple kiss under the mistletoe. After that encounter Jack can’t get Sofia off his mind and purses her to make her his and protect her from the horrible world. Jack is determined to have her come out the shadows and come out be his light in all the ugly. When Sofia tells Jack her past will he run or stay? Can Jack keep Sofia safe from her past? Can Jack make her see that she deserve to be happy? Will the make it so they can be finally happy? This story is about two broken people Sofia and Jack that need each to become whole again; forgiveness, fighting your demons and finding love.
